A Few Personal Reviews of The Olcott House

"These guys have quite possibly THE most gorgeous Bed and Breakfast I have ever seen!  I love their house." (February 2013)

Wendy Webb, Editor, Duluth-Superior Magazine and author of two incredible novels - Released in February, 2013, The fate of Mercy Alben, a chilling and haunting tale that takes place in a mansion on the shores of Lake Superior and her 2010 hit gothic novel, The Tale Of Halcyon Crane... Must reads for ghostly thriller enthusiasts.

"The Olcott House is always a main highlight of the historic homes tours that I have led for years. Owners, David and Jerry, continue to maintain this most gorgeous property with great pride and attention to detail. This Bed and Breakfast is one of the finest in the country.  I am one of Duluth's passionate historians and have been one since Glensheen, The Historic Congdon Estate, opened to the public in 1979. The history of The Olcott House mansion was, is, and will continue to be an integral part of Northern Minnesota's legacy." (January 2013)

Dennis Lamkin, Executive Officer, Duluth Preservation Alliance and long-time board member of Glensheen, The Historic Congdon Estate.

"Angela & I would like to thank you for a wonderful stay at your lovely B&B! We absolutely loved the whole experience of our stay. The house is spectacular. We will be sure to return again someday and have already recommended it to others and will definitely continue to do so! On another note, we both really liked the evening wine that you served. Once again, thank you for helping to make our honeymoon great."
Kindest Regards, Jeff & Angela

"Thank you so much not only for your wonderful hospitality, but for your kindness and (additional) breakfast invitation. That was very special. You have a beautiful home and we hope to stay here again."
All the best to you both, Jesse & Luke

"My Husband and I recently celebrated our one year anniversary and stayed at The Olcott Mansion. We were absolutely blown away not only because of its beauty, but by the attention to detail from the staff. From the wine and cheese in the afternoon, to the defrosting of our wedding cake, to the AMAZING breakfasts, it was more than we could have hoped for. The size of the rooms were incredible. Another detail that we thought noteworthy, was that we were actually encouraged to use the whole house. We could play games in the library, play the piano if we felt so inclined, or even go through and look at the open suites. We strongly recommend choosing this treasure of an Inn, and can't wait to return for anniversary's to come!"

"After slumbering at the Olcott house in the East Wing Suite I am convinced this B & B is an under discovered jewel in Duluth. It is hard to keep it a secret. A must for great accommodations when in Duluth, Minnesota. 'Lovely and Amazing' hospitality."

"Thank you so much for a most romantic weekend. We had such a wonderful time. The accommodations, the food, the service — all amazing. The Olcott House is by far one of our favorite B&Bs. We cannot wait to get back."

"Thank you for a wonderful weekend at the Olcott House. I think you two have really found your calling as innkeepers - hopefully you enjoy it as much as your guests enjoy your hospitality! We very much enjoyed the Carriage House Suite, and your hospitality was gracious and friendly. My husband commented on Sunday morning that he woke up thinking himself actually in Europe - the Carriage House has such an authentic European flavor! I do have a favor to ask - could you please give me the recipe for the yogurt dish that was served at breakfast on Saturday morning? Like the rest of the food, it was simply delightful! We will certainly recommend you to any friends or family who want to stay in Duluth."

"A note of thanks for our recent trip to your wonderful Bed & Breakfast. The place is immaculate, yet relaxed. We enjoyed your stories, your trains and your recommendations for dinner: the Brewhouse Burger - yum. All the best...See you soon."

"We didn't get the opportunity before we left Monday morning to thank you for such a wonderful stay this past weekend. We can't say enough how much we enjoyed staying at the Olcott House! The house is beautiful, the rooms are absolutely wonderful, the breakfasts were delicious, and we really enjoyed getting the opportunity to meet and talk with both of you! We really liked taking the "tour" of the house to understand and see all the great history and architecture that's described in the information. Your B&B was the perfect spot for our little romantic getaway! We have been already (and will continue to) tell all our friends about the place and how much we enjoyed everything! Thanks again and we can't wait to come back!"
