"TOP U.S. BED & BREAKFAST GETAWAYS" — Inn Style Magazine

We invite you to experience historic Duluth, which was once home to more millionaires per capita than any other city in the world.  Grand manor homes and gracious Victorians welcomed family and friends to lavish social events.

Come step across our thresholds into a timeless world of comfort, luxury, grace and elegance.  You will feel welcome the moment you arrive.

Enjoy all that winter has to offer in Duluth!  Skiing and snowboarding conditions are fantastic.  All cross country ski trails are groomed and open throughout the city.  Snowmobile trails are open.  Ice skating is available at Bayfront Park.  There is also a multiude of indoor activities such as touring the Glensheen and Fairlawn mansions, plays at The Duluth Playhouse, sports events, concerts, movies, art films and enjoying a fine meal at one of our many local restaurants.  Or just spend time relaxing in our magnificant Bed & Breakfast Inn.  Winter is the perfect time to experience the magic and grandeur of The Olcott House.

Duluth Bed & Breakfast luxury accommodations are limited.  We recommend booking early for events such as the Bayfront Blues Festival, Maritime Tall Ships Festival, Grandma’s Marathon, Labor Day Weekend and the Bentleyville Festival of Lights.

The innkeepers of the Historic Bed and Breakfast Inns of Duluth maintain their legacy of hospitality, hosting the occasional Tea or Event, but always treating guests to an experiences that one can only dream of.  One of the joys of being an innkeeper is helping our guests create that perfect getaway.  With everything from antiques to zoos, our area offers a bounty of choices.  Below is a list of some of our favorites.

Zoo and Aquarium

"Thank you for a wonderful weekend at the Olcott House. I think you two have really found your calling as innkeepers - hopefully you enjoy it as much as your guests enjoy your hospitality! We very much enjoyed the Carriage House Suite, and your hospitality was gracious and friendly. My husband commented on Sunday morning that he woke up thinking himself actually in Europe - the Carriage House has such an authentic European flavor! I do have a favor to ask - could you please give me the recipe for the yogurt dish that was served at breakfast on Saturday morning? Like the rest of the food, it was simply delightful! We will certainly recommend you to any friends or family who want to stay in Duluth."
— Leigh-Anne
"A note of thanks for our recent trip to your wonderful Bed & Breakfast. The place is immaculate, yet relaxed. We enjoyed your stories, your trains and your recommendations for dinner: the Brewhouse Burger - yum.
All the best...See you soon."
— Timm & Annie
"We didn't get the opportunity before we left Monday morning to thank you for such a wonderful stay this past weekend. We can't say enough how much we enjoyed staying at the Olcott House! The house is beautiful, the rooms are absolutely wonderful, the breakfasts were delicious, and we really enjoyed getting the opportunity to meet and talk with both of you! We really liked taking the "tour" of the house to understand and see all the great history and architecture that's described in the information. Your B&B was the perfect spot for our little romantic getaway! We have been already (and will continue to) tell all our friends about the place and how much we enjoyed everything! Thanks again and we can't wait to come back!"
— Rick & Amy-Marie

"Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We love staying in B&B's & this is one of our favorites. The house & room are gorgeous. My husband is a history major and loved the historic information around the house. We will definitely recommend the Olcott House to our friends & family & will be back again to stay in another room!"

— Kathryn & Dan
