Rates include a wonderful, full gourmet breakfast (vegetarian option available) and complimentary wine and cheese hors d'oeuvres each afternoon/evening. Romantic Hideway
We invite you to stay in this historic, four-room, architecturally stunning Carriage House. Just steps away from the main house, this suite is perfect for honeymoons, special occasions or that extra private get-away. You'll enjoy complete privacy and full access to the mansion.
Beautiful European decor distinguishes this suite. Details include arched palladian windows, french doors, and a hand-painted Impressionist mural. This lovely suite includes a spacious living room filled with natural light from the numerous windows. The spectacular fireplace features the original rare tiles which were documented in a recently published book about antique art tiles.
The bedroom features a queen-size antique tiger mahogany sleigh bed. The separate bath has a wonderful whirlpool bathtub with jets and a shower. The charming kitchen includes a microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker with a selection of teas and our Olcott Blend organic coffee. Additional amenities include over 70 TV channels, LCD TV/DVD,CD player and thick, luxurious, oversized, terry spa bathrobes. A single roll-away bed is available for a third guest.

Charming french doors open to the three-season porch which gives you access to your very own private outside lookout deck. Here you can sit and take in the views of the Duluth harbor and world famous Aerial Lift Bridge.
The Lake Superior Suite has a private bath with bath tub and shower and thick luxurious oversized terry spa bathrobes. Amenities include DirecTV digital satellite LCD TV/DVD, CD player and air conditioning.

Classic Elegance
All of our suites are true originals and this one is no different! It is the only suite on the first floor and was favored by William Olcott and therefore has a fascinating and surprising history. A stunning paneled suite, it features an intricately carved queen-size canopy high bed, boldly beamed ceiling, gleaming hardwood floors, and original stately high casement windows.
The Olcott Suite, with its charming fireplace, also provides air conditioning, DirecTV digital satellite LCD TV/DVD, a CD player.
The private bathroom has a separate bathing/shower room with a large, deep oval soaking tub to soothe your cares away. Bubble bath and luxuriant bathrobes provided! This is our English country estate suite.

We were absolutely blown away not only because of its beauty, but by the attention to detail from the staff. From the wine and cheese in the afternoon, to the defrosting of our wedding cake, to the AMAZING breakfasts, it was more than we could have hoped for. The size of the rooms were incredible. Another detail that we thought noteworthy, was that we were actually encouraged to use the whole house. We could play games in the library, play the piano if we felt so inclined, or even go through and look at the open suites.
